Burnout in the workplace is unfortunately common, but often goes unrecognised or acknowledged. In this conversation, we will be dissecting what it is, how to recognise, how to support, and what businesses can do to prevent it happening to the workforce - oh, and some practical advice for individuals to avoid it as well!
Dr Tracey Leghorn, Chief HR and H&S Officer, SUEZ recycling and recovery UK
Dr Tracey Leghorn holds the Board position of Chief HR and H&S Officer with SUEZ recycling and recovery UK. As a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, Tracey has enjoyed a successful 25-year career in HR roles and as a senior consultant with PwC, which span a range of businesses in healthcare, technology, food services, pharmaceuticals, banking and currently waste and resources where she has successfully led the people agenda to retain SUEZ UK’s position as one of The Sunday Times Top 25 Best Big Companies to Work For 2020.
Having spent a significant part of her career in health and social care organisations, Tracey is passionate about wellbeing on an individual, organisational and public health basis and formed part of a Department of Health national working group for several years which aimed to improve health in the workplace under the Chairmanship of Dame Carol Black.
Tracey is an advocate for gender equality and all aspects of inclusion. Her passion to improve the lives, position and opportunities of women, in and outside of the workplace, is informed by research in this area which has earned her a doctorate from the University of Leicester and more recently a place on the Waste and Resources Sector ‘Hot 100’ key industry influencers list for 2020.
Simon Richardson, Director, Golden Tree Wellbeing
Simon Richardson (LL.M, LL.B, RMN, RGN) has over 25 years of experience in the health and education sectors. With experience in a variety of mental health settings, he has extensive experience in counselling and facilitating positive approaches to physical and mental health.
Simon is an energetic and accomplished public speaker on the subject of Emotional Health and Wellbeing.
He is also a fully accredited Circle Time Trainer, Award-winning Mental Health Trainer and First Aid for Mental Health, Simon is also training as a Psychotherapist (Transactional Analysis) and runs a small private practice in Guisborough; he is also a qualified Meditation Instructor and Laughter Yoga Teacher.
Simon qualified as an RGN and RMN, and has worked in a variety of mental health settings, an Acute Mental Health (Adult) ward; Addiction’s Nurse; as Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) and as the Manager of a multi-agency Deliberate Self-harm Liaison Team before becoming a lecturer in Health and Social Care. Simon worked as Coordinator of the Drug Education Team working with approximately 300 schools across 4 local authorities. His first degree is in Law and he holds a Master's in Child Law. He is also one of the directors of Golden Tree Wellbeing CIC working with organisations across the UK delivering a range of mental health and wellbeing training.
