We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Platform Engineering Manager to join a leading technology organisation. You will lead the development and optimisation of key application platforms. In this role, you will build and manage a high-performing platform engineering team, responsible for defining and executing the platform strategy to support digital services and align application solutions with our business goals. Your leadership will be instrumental in automating business processes, strategy and delivering scalable platform solutions that enhance both customer experience and operational efficiency, while also defining new products for our clients.

As the Head of Platform Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with business sponsors and operational leaders to gather requirements and ensure the delivery of platform solutions that drive customer engagement and streamline workflows. You will oversee the design, development, and implementation of secure, reliable, and scalable platforms for customer-facing applications and shared service automation. Furthermore, you will lead the adoption and optimization of enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow and low-code tools (e.g., Microsoft Power Platform, PEGA, UIPath) to enhance workflow automation and service delivery.

A key responsibility of this role is to establish platform architecture best practices, ensuring that systems are robust, secure, and easily integrated with other digital and enterprise applications. You will also ensure smooth operations through effective platform monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement efforts, minimizing downtime and optimizing platform performance.

In addition to technical leadership, you will foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team. You will play a critical role in coaching and mentoring staff, building a culture that emphasizes learning and adaptation. Moreover, you will maintain strong relationships with senior leadership and stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.

This position also involves measuring and enhancing platform engineering performance using key metrics. You will support the organization’s shift towards a value-based operating model, ensuring strategic alignment through effective resource management, key result tracking, and program management. Your role will also include removing organizational impediments and driving the flow of value through the team.

Key qualifications for this role include proven leadership experience in platform engineering, particularly with customer engagement technologies and enterprise-level platforms like ServiceNow and low-code workflow automation tools. You should also have a deep understanding of digital platform architecture, microservices, API integrations, cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure), and modern development tools. We are looking for an experienced leader with strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential, with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications include experience with customer engagement platforms such as AI chatbots, call center solutions, eCommerce systems, and a familiarity with ITSM frameworks and digital security best practices.
