Junior Data Analyst Job Description
An exciting opportunity for a Junior Data Analyst has arisen to join Housing Data, a dynamic data consultancy working with Housing Associations and Local Authorities. Collaborating with Senior Analysts and Engineers you will develop your analytical capabilities working in typical cloud-based environments. You will be a self-starter who is inquisitive by nature and passionate about data.
Working in a small, collaborative environment, dealing with huge quantities of data, you will get the opportunity to be involved in various client facing and complex analytics projects.
Responsibilities:
· Data collection, querying and preparation
· Data Analysis and Reporting: Perform in-depth analysis of large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions. Utilise statistical techniques and advanced analytics to support strategic planning and operational improvements.
- Data analysis using tools such as Excel and SQL
·Provide insight and trends to the business
·Dashboard and report development using data visualisation tools such as PowerBI. This includes creating data models, developing complex DAX queries and integrating various data sources to ensure comprehensive and real-time reporting
·Build predictive models using AI tools
·Collaborate with Senior Analyst on complex analyses including client projects
·Continuous development with new tools techniques and methodologies
·Contribute to data governance policies and best practice
Data Quality Assurance: Develop and implement data quality assurance processes to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of data used in analyses and reporting. Conduct regular data quality assessments and audits.
Data Cleansing and Validation: Perform data cleansing and validation tasks to maintain high data quality. Identify and correct data anomalies and inconsistencies in datasets.
Data Quality Metrics: Establish and monitor data quality metrics to track the performance and accuracy of data. Report on data quality issues and work with stakeholders to resolve them effectively.
Experience:
·Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
·Excellent problem solving skills
·Critical thinking and attention to detail
·Knowledge of Excel and SQL
·Experience of PowerBI
