Lending Director

InterQuest are proudly supporting a reputable challenger bank with the search for a Lending Director to join their Development Finance team. The role has arisen to meet the needs of the growing business and will require origination, underwriting and management of a Development lending portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate a portfolio of high-quality property development loans and manage client relationships to ensure that strategic goals are met, and financial performance targets are exceeded.
- Manage the full lifecycle of deals, from initial enquiries and proposals to negotiations, submissions to the Credit Committee, loan drawdown, and ongoing monitoring throughout the loan term. This will be supported by a Case Management team.
- Take primary responsibility for a portfolio of client relationships, ensuring that the company's interests are always protected and loans are managed in line with expectations until full repayment.
- Enhance the company's profile within the property industry through proactive marketing, intelligent deal structuring, and excellent customer service.
- Drive growth and expansion in the region by meeting or exceeding targets for both lending volumes and profitability.
- Continually review and improve processes to ensure they are efficient, effective, and robust.
- Develop and maintain a database of potential clients (residential and commercial developers), researching their geographic focus, financial health, and experience.
Essential Skills:
- Experience from a similar role involving origination, underwriting and management of development portfolios
- A proven track record in successful residential and commercial property lending.
- An established network within the UK commercial property sector, including borrowers, lawyers, valuers, surveyors, and other professional intermediaries.
- In-depth knowledge and enthusiasm for residential and commercial property development.
