InterQuest are supporting an international bank with the search for a Finance Manager to oversee and enhance the preparation and submission of the Bank's financial and management accounts. This role involves generating monthly and annual financial reports, providing insightful commentary and analysis, and supervising the Assistant Manager, Finance. Additional finance-related responsibilities will be assigned as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and review of comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring adherence to UK GAAP/IFRS standards.
- Conduct timely financial analyses to elucidate variances, trends, and key metrics, supporting management in making data-driven decisions.
- Oversee the preparation or review of the annual corporation tax return, quarterly tax payments, and VAT returns.
- Prepare disclosure notes for annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS and collaborate with external auditors to facilitate a smooth audit process.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Assistant Manager, Finance, including offering guidance, training, and support to meet departmental objectives.
- Assist the Regulatory Reporting Manager with quarterly FINREP returns and other relevant regulatory reports.
- Contribute to system, process, and control enhancements to ensure financial data integrity and operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant financial reporting and accounting regulations, maintaining the integrity of data in the bank's core systems.
- Provide cover for the Chief Accountant and the Manager, Group Reporting during absences and assist the Chief Accountant and CFO with ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Essential Skills:
- Accountancy Qualification
- COREP and FINREP experience
- Experience from a similar position within a bank
