Operational Risk and Governance Manager

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role within one of the UK’s leading financial networks?

As the Operational Risk & Governance Manager, you’ll play a critical role in strengthening our second line of defence, driving risk maturity, and ensuring we maintain a robust risk management culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and enhance the Group Risk Management Framework (RMF), including:
• Risk identification and mitigation strategies
• Maintaining the Group’s Risk Appetite and Policy Suite
• Conducting Risk and Control Self-Assessments
• Monitoring and reporting risk events and near-misses
• Provide expert, balanced risk advice across all business areas.
• Oversee the implementation of effective risk monitoring processes and closure of risk events.
• Support the Group Compliance Director in preparing insightful risk management information for the Board.
• Act as Secretary for the Board Risk Committee and maintain governance policies.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

• A Level 4 (or higher) risk management qualification and professional body membership.
• Strong knowledge of risk management in the financial advice sector, including personal investment, insurance, and mortgages.
• Leadership skills to influence a culture of accountability, professional curiosity, and continuous improvement.
• Superb communication, organizational abilities, and sound judgement under pressure.
