Principal Data Engineer

ECOM are partnered with a leading company in the search for x2 Data Engineers.
12 Month Contract - Immediate Start
Inside IR35
£650 - £750 per day (DoE)
Manchester x2 days per week

You will join a collaborative Data Platform team using Agile methods to deliver solutions on our cloud platform, starting with Azure Databricks. The role involves working with various business areas, contributing to the Secure System Development Lifecycle (S-SDLC), and expanding the platform's capabilities.

As a Principal Data Engineer, you will:

- Design and implement a scalable data platform using Azure Databricks.
- Contribute to the development of the Insight Data Strategy.
- Set standards for data ingestion, governance, and transformation.
- Support the adoption of advanced analytics and AI.
- Collaborate on infrastructure-as-code and cloud engineering.
- Ensure compliance with internal data, privacy, and security policies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, recommending relevant advancements.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Azure Databricks (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Apache Spark,)
Python & SQL
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Delta Live Tables
Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication
Knowledge of software engineering principles and Agile development.
