Strategic Risk Lead

InterQuest are supporting an established banking client in identirfying a ESG Risk Manager to join the bank in London on the North West with a good hybrid working model


This role is responsible for overseeing strategic risks, including Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Reputation, and Strategy Execution. Responsibilities include strengthening ESG risk capabilities, aligning with stakeholder expectations, and fostering collaboration across risk functions, business units, and external stakeholders. A cooperative approach is essential for meeting individual and team objectives.


Additionally, the position involves ESG risk reporting, both internally and externally, to provide insights into risk management effectiveness and ensure compliance with disclosure obligations. The role also includes conducting risk assessments, defining risk appetite, and implementing risk management processes aligned with the organization's risk framework.


This excellent opportunity would play a key role in shaping how the bank handle their climate risk obligations


Key Responsibilities

• Ensure effective oversight of strategic risks across the organization.
• Develop ESG risk reporting capabilities, ensuring clarity and compliance with evolving disclosure standards.
• Provide actionable insights on ESG risks and their impact on business strategy.
• Lead the preparation of internal and external reports related to ESG and strategic risks.
• Support scenario analysis and risk quantification efforts, including climate-related risk assessments.
  
  

To be considered you would need

1. Esperience working on ICAAP
2. Understanding of ESG-related risk management and disclosure expectations on financial services firms, e.g. SS3/19, TCFD, ISSB
3. Strong climate risk experience from a hands on perspective
